Dirty Dozen

10 pesticides a day.

That’s how much pesticides we would consume daily if we were to take USDA-recommended 5 daily servings of fruits and veggies from the 15 most contaminated. By choosing from the 15 least contaminated food grown conventionally (ie. non-organic), we ingest less than 2 pesticides daily.

The Environment Working Group’s new Dirty Dozen list might change your perspective on celery, and some other food and fruits that make up our daily diets. 64 pesticides were found in residues on celery, according to Daily Green, making it top of the list.

This list is also available on iPhone apps for free download.

The Daily Green added 12 more food to this list of fruits and vegetables that are best bought organic.
